The State Attorney General’s Office began an investigation to determine the causes of the possible accident.
Seven young university students drowned when the vehicle they were traveling in fell into a river in the southern area of Veracruz.
The apparent accident occurred last night on the Calzadas River in the port of Coatzacoalcos, where the victims had gathered on a private dock.
Police reports indicate that the students were traveling in a Chevrolet Suburban truck, which fell to the bottom of the river.
The victims were identified as Mayra Reyes Sánchez, María Díaz Pelayo, Pablo López Guerrero, Kataline Toledo, Julio Vizcaíno, Perla Álvarez Pacheco and Luz Paulina, all between 21 and 22 years old.
Elements from various corporations carried out the rescue of the unit and the bodies of the young people.
