A violent day in Nuevo León leaves at least 9 dead in less than 24 hours

On Wednesday, June 26, the Metropolitan Area of ​​Monterrey reported a day of extreme violence, with shootings and executions on main avenues and in broad daylight, which left nine dead.

At 1:00 p.m., the municipality of San Pedro, considered one of the safest in Mexico, experienced an attack on Morones Prieto Avenue, which left two people dead.

The events were reported at Jiménez Street, in the Lucio Blanco neighborhood, near the main entrance of a private university. The balance was a 30-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man dead.

The incident disrupted traffic in the city, as it is an avenue that runs from Santa Catarina to Monterrey.

Almost simultaneously, the discovery of a lifeless woman with several gunshot wounds to her face and shoulder was reported inside a home in the Nuevo San Rafael neighborhood, in the municipality of Guadalupe to the east of the city.

While in the northern area of ​​the municipality of Monterrey, an attack was recorded that left three dead and two wounded by gunshots, after armed individuals broke into a house in the San Bernabé XII neighborhood.

The first investigations showed that the address was indicated as a drug sales point, so the authorities are maintaining that line of investigation.

A little earlier, in Guadalupe, the death of a man and one injured also by firearm projectiles was reported in the Atoyac de Álvarez neighborhood,

And finally, in the afternoon, the murder of a 45-year-old man was reported in the La Morita community, in the municipality of Montemorelos.
