El Califa de León becomes the first taquería in all of Mexico to receive a Michelin Star

Tacos are one of the culinary specialties in Mexico City, but have you tried some with a Michelin star “flavor”? Well, El Califa de León became the first Chilanga taqueria to receive a star for being “very good within its category.”

For the first time, the Michelin Guide came to Mexico to recognize national restaurants that offer the best experiences. Throughout the Mexican Republic, more than 50 establishments from six states (Nuevo León, Oaxaca, Quintana Roo, Baja California, Baja California Sur, and CDMX) received a distinction for the level of their cuisine.

Among the distinctions, El Califa de León stood out, who with more than 70 years of experience is considered a pioneer of the gaonero taco.

What tacos do you offer and what is their price?
The offering of tacos that can be found ranges from the classics of steak, chop, and rib, to their specialty: the gaonera, which according to the Michelin Guide website, is made with “a meat so tender that it can be left whole.” ” to bite him.
