A shootout between civilians and agents of the Ministry of Public Security (SSP) occurred on the Paso del Toro-Medellín highway, in the Veracruz-Boca Del Río metropolitan area.
The chase occurred on Thursday afternoon, when armed civilians aboard private vehicles shot at the police officers and fled, which led to a chase.
On the road there was a private white truck with bullet holes and a damaged patrol car with bullet holes.
The SSP reported that they maintain a security operation on site to try to locate the aggressors. No people were reported injured.
