The air terminal expects to close in 2023 serving 1.6 million passengers
With an average flight occupancy of 80%, the Querétaro International Airport (AIQ) estimates to close 2023 serving 1.6 million passengers.
The Secretary of Sustainable Development, Marco Antonio del Prete Tercero, reported that as of September the air terminal reported the movement of 1.3 million people, and the expectation is that during October-December around 300 thousand more users will join.

The director of the Querétaro International Airport, Jorge Gutiérrez, recalled that on October 1, the terminal accumulated, throughout its almost 19 years of life, the first 10 million passengers transported.
He recalled that the airport began operations on November 28, 2004, and half of the 10 million passengers were reached on December 31, 2018.
The first international flight that took off from Querétaro was to the state of Texas, in the American Union, on March 17, 2005, just four months after its operations began, in November 2004.
In the AIQ, he said, the airlines operate: Aeroméxico, Volaris, United, American Airlines, Viva Aerobus and TAR.
The main national destinations are Monterrey, Cancún, Mexico City, Tijuana and Guadalajara.
