Many tourists have called hotels to ask whether or not it is safe to travel to the port due to the weather phenomenon, but they have not canceled.

MAZATLAN. – The president of the Tres Islas Hotel and Motel Association, José Ramón Manguart Sánchez, expressed that to date there have been no cancellations by visitors in the port hotels due to the phenomenon of tropical storm “Lidia.”

He mentioned that some tourists have expressed some concern and have made multiple inquiries to determine if it is safe to travel to the destination due to the possible rains that may affect the city. However, so far, the indication is that the situation is under control, and it is expected to remain that way.

«There have been no cancellations, what is known is that we have already sent information to the hotels so that they are prepared preventively for any eventuality. Each hotel already has established protocols when a phenomenon of this type approaches. “People have asked, but they haven’t canceled,” he explained.

He also highlighted that there is a security protocol in case it is necessary to activate it if the meteorological phenomenon changes its course. So far, the situation is calm, but it is important to pay attention to the instructions issued by the authorities.

The businessman stressed that the protocol includes measures such as restricting certain activities in the hotel, preventing guests from occupying rooms with sea views and guaranteeing the supply of food for several days, among other things.

“When certain types of natural phenomena occur, we remove furniture and reduce the water level in the pool to prevent overflows,” he added.

Finally, he noted that staff logistics are adapted in case of emergency, with some employees staying overnight in hotels. In addition, they have been prepared with enough food for three days in case of an emergency, to ensure an adequate response to any circumstance.
