The states of Michoacán, Chiapas and Oaxaca were surprised by earthquakes, which required, in some cases, the eviction of properties and even the activation of the seismic alert, with no damage or injuries reported to date.
Three earthquakes are registered in Mexico
Michoacán was the first entity that registered a telluric movement. It was of magnitude 4.1, at 11:51 a.m., with an epicenter in the town of Guacamayas, on the border with Guerrero.
The Guerrero Department of Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection reported that the tremor was perceived slightly in the municipalities of La Unión de Isidoro Montes de Oca and Coahuayutla de José María Izazaga, in the Costa Grande region, but did not activate the alert.
At 4:18 p.m., another earthquake, of magnitude 4.7, occurred in Ciudad Hidalgo, Chiapas, which was even noticeable in the state of Oaxaca, which led to the eviction of shopping centers.
Faced with the natural phenomenon, the National Civil Protection Coordination of the federal government contacted the state and municipal civil protection units to carry out a preliminary evaluation of the area, without any incidents being reported to date.
Minutes later, the last earthquake, of magnitude 4.9, occurred in Miahuatlán, Oaxaca, which even warranted the activation of the seismic alert.
As happened in the Chiapas tremor, this one also resorted to the eviction of properties, videos that were shared on social networks.
In this regard, the State Coordination of Civil Protection and Risk Management of Oaxaca reported that it carried out rigorous monitoring in the eight regions to detect possible effects, with a white balance at the moment.
