Mexico’s federal airport operator ASA will award a contract this month to expand and rehabilitate the Colima airport in the namesake state.
The contract will be awarded on May 16 and the works will last 180 days, according to the tender call (LO-09-JZL-009JZL001-N-6-2023) published on the procurement site Compranet.
The following firms are competing for the contract: Camden Construcciones, CVM Construcciones, Desarrollo Habitacional y Urbano del Estado de Colima, and MMC Interacciones.
In its 2023 budget, the federal government allocated 97mn pesos (US$5.46mn) to the project, which has a total cost of 204mn.
ASA – which is part of the Infrastructure, communications and transportation ministry (SICT) – operates 19 airports. This year has seen President Andrés Manuel López Obrador assigning it nearly 2bn pesos for modernization and rehabilitation projects.
