Beach cleaning program starts in Tulum

Workers from the Federal Maritime Terrestrial Zone (Zofemat) of the H. City Hall, associations, service providers, and volunteers gathered on Saturday, April 22nd, at Tulum’s Playa Santa Fe, to start the cleaning program of the Tulum coast.

According to the statement, the municipal treasurer, Vicente Francisco Aldape Moncada, representing the municipal president, Diego Castañón Trejo, recognized that teamwork brings results and everyone agrees on the project of a better Tulum, with clean, crystalline beaches preserved for the enjoyment of tourists and locals.

The director of Zofemat-Tulum, Melitón González Pérez, said that, since the beginning of the administration, they have been working hard to achieve Platinum Beach certification, with care activities such as cleaning, waste removal, sargassum, and installation of preventive signage. that allows visitors to enjoy the beauties that the Mayan Caribbean offers.

During the cleaning of Santa Fe Beach, the attendees were informed about the treatment that some waste that is thrown there is processed, seeking two objectives in a single exercise, preservation of the beach and knowledge about the management of the waste found there.
