Last Saturday, March 19th, the businessman Cipriano Torres was kidnapped outside his home; Today, March 22, it is confirmed that he was found dead with traces of torture in Chetumal, Quintana Roo.

Surveillance cameras captured the moment of the businessman’s kidnapping, when several subjects who were driving in a white car intercepted him outside his house located on Payo Obispo street, in the Proterritorio neighborhood.

This is because the businessman had already gone through a similar event in May 2022, when an armed group entered his establishment dedicated to the sale of jet skis and threatened his workers to try to take him away.

In his first kidnapping attempt, the businessman was saved because the place’s security alarms sounded and the criminals decided to flee.

Unfortunately, Mr. Cipriano Torres was found dead on Tuesday, March 21st.

But this is not an isolated case, in the last fifteen days, three Chetumal businessmen have been murdered.

Ever since the Morena political party took office in Quintana Roo, the crime index in the state capital Chetumal has skyrocketed.
