Senior citizen shots down burglar who broke into his home in Guadalajara

A senior citizen shot down a burglar who broke into his home in Guadalajara on the night of Tuesday, February 7. The man who is between 65 and 70 years of age declared he shot a man who broke into his home to rob.

According to the report, a 35-year-old subject entered the home of the man located at the crossroads of Josefa Ortiz de Dominguez and San Lorenzo streets in the Agustín Yáñez neighborhood in Guadalajara, Jalisco.

Around 10:30 p.m., the older adult realized that somebody had entered his home, so he took the firearm, and when the burglar attacked him with a knife, the man shot him down in self-defense.

Upon arrival, the authorities verified that the alleged burglar no longer had vital signs and found him in possession of a knife.

The senior citizen was arrested, and there is an investigation ongoing to confirm if he acted in self-defense.
