AMLO’s wife, Beatriz Gutiérrez Müller (who has declared she is not the First Lady), attended the inauguration of the president of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, representing her husband, the Mexican president Andrés Manuel López Obrador and shared some videos of the moment that he classified as a “historic event” for the South American nation.

Through her official Instagram account, the doctor from the Metropolitan Autonomous University (UAM) celebrated that Da Silva had returned to power in Brazil, a situation that she declared a victory for democracy and launched a harangue: “Long live Brazil!”.

He also gave more details about his visit and stated that from the Congress of the “brother country”, he was able to witness a “historic change of government”, since the leftist movement returned to power after the Brazilians were governed by a right-wing administration in charge of Jair Bolsonaro.

“The president of Brazil is already @lulaoficial. From the Congress of this sister country, we witness this historic change of government. Long live Brazil! Democracy prevailed!”, Gutiérrez wrote on Sunday, January 1.
