The Seismic Alert offers coverage in 7 entities of the Republic and is transmitted by other means of communication such as loudspeakers, radio, and television.
Mexico is one of the countries with the highest seismic activity due to its proximity to the Pacific Ring of Fire, a ring made up of tectonic plates that are in constant movement and cause geological faults in the national territory and in other countries.
Currently, it is considered that the states of Chiapas, Guerrero, Oaxaca, Michoacán, Colima, and Jalisco, are the ones that registered the greatest number of earthquakes in the day, due to the interaction of the Cocos and Rivera plates that subduct with North America and the Caribbean.
