Activists knit Mexico City’s Angel in red
On Sunday, December 11, 2022, this unusual form of protest or demonstration is taking place right now in the heart of Mexico City, on Paseo de la Reforma.
The initiative was an idea of the Colectivo Hilos, an interdisciplinary collective, gathered from a common interest in textiles and social art.
The Hilos collective is made up of relatives of disappeared people and victims of violence.
Activists knitted a large red net that they called ‘Blood of my blood’ which covered the stairs of the monument.
