AMLO’s wife, Beatriz Gutiérrez Müller (who has claimed many times that she is not Mexico’s First Lady), celebrates 200 years of the US-Mexico relationship

The writer and historian Beatriz Gutiérrez Müller highlighted that destiny made Mexico and the US share the border, but the union between both nations has been fostered with mutual affection and respect.

Beatriz Gutiérrez Müller, writer, and wife of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, recalled the bicentennial of diplomatic relations between Mexico and the United States.

Today marks the 200th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Mexico and the United States. We share one of the longest borders in the world; many of our families work, grow, contribute and enrich the development of both sister nations.

Fate has brought us together and we have become closer with our mutual affection and respect. On this very special occasion, I salute my friend First Lady Dr. Jill Biden, and her husband, President Joe Biden. Congratulations to our nations! Gutiérrez Müller concluded.
