AMLO proposes to include animal protection topics in public education textbooks

Andrés Manuel López Obrador, president of Mexico, proposed including animal protection topics in public education free textbooks that are distributed in basic-level schools in the country.

“In the matter of animal protection, we are going to make sure that the contents of the new textbooks already include these topics,” he said informally.

He said that before certain topics were not covered by public education textbooks, such as sex, but now “it seems that progress has been made in that sense, well, and we want to do the same thing with other important topics such as animal cruelty.”
