Man fires weapon at the car where a senator was traveling in State of Mexico

When heading to the protest ceremony of the new mayor of the municipality of Temoaya in the state of Mexico, a subject opened fire at the truck where Senator Martha Guerrero was traveling. Despite the seriousness of these events, the corresponding authorities reported that no people were injured.

According to a statement, the events occurred around 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 19th, when the senator was addressing the protocol ceremony of the Temoaya municipal president, Nelly Brígida Rivera Sánchez.

During these events, a subject got out of another vehicle, approached four meters from the car in which the legislator was traveling, and fired four times at the hood and on the side of the door, causing tension and fear among the occupants.

This incident, they assured, takes place within the framework of the protest ceremonies that are being carried out by the senators all across the State of Mexico.

The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico (FGJEM) reported in a preliminary manner that apparently everything originated after a road incident between the senator’s driver and another driver.
