Magaly Fregoso Ortiz, director of the Puerto Vallarta International Convention Center, reported that so far the destination is expected to close the year with 26 events held at this venue.
He indicated that there are nine remaining of these, so the next event that is scheduled is a convention to be held from September 22 to 26 with 1,500 people attending.
“We are awaiting the new measures that are being marked by the State Government, for example, we have a concert for the end of this year and we still do not know if it will be possible or not, due to the fact that these events are not being authorized but the organizers are ready for this concert to be held on December 31 ”.
He pointed out that this event was going to take place last year but it had to be postponed due to the pandemic but it is expected that it will take place.
Regarding cancellations of events, he said that there have been very few, between one or two, since the organizers have to give an advance at the time of signing the contract and it does not suit them, they have better postponed their events, some in 2022 and until 2023.
On the other hand, he commented that despite the fact that the CIC can operate at 50%, for months it has been decided to operate at 30% to make it a conservative outlook and thus be able to guarantee the client that their event can carry it out.
