President Andrés Manuel López Obrador attended his second consecutive Cry of Independence without people in the capital’s Zócalo. AMLO carried out the whole act in front of an empty esplanade for the second time on September 15, 2021, at 23:09 hrs

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) gave his third Cry of Independence and the second before an empty Zócalo plate in the capital, due to the health contingency in Mexico City (CDMX).

At 10:55 p.m., the ceremony for the 211th anniversary of the Independence of Mexico began.

Accompanied by his wife, Beatriz Gutiérrez Müller, President Andrés Manuel presided the event from the main balcony of the National Palace.

The ceremony of the Cry of Independence began with the reproduction in the Zócalo of a video alluding to the resistance and Independence of Mexico. Subsequently, the Flag Escort of the Heroic Military College began the tour of the Reception Hall.

In the Ambassadors Room, López Obrador led the intonation of the Touch of Silence in memory of the people who have died from COVID-19.

Then the President went to the Flag Escort, received the national flag, and in the Main Hall led the Cry of Independence.

President Andrés Manuel Lopez Obrador was accompanied by his wife, Beatriz Gutiérrez Müller.
