Mexico 3rd covid wave paints states in yellow and orange due to the rebound

The Ministry of Health registered 16,421 Covid-19 infections in the last 24 hours, the highest number recorded since last January.

The Ministry of Health confirmed this Friday afternoon that 15 states of the Mexican Republic will be in the yellow color of the epidemiological traffic light between Monday, July 26 and Sunday, August 8, after the increases in infections by coronavirus.

The agency detailed that another 13 states in the country will be in orange, three more in green and one in red.

The states that will be in yellow are Baja California, Campeche, Chihuahua, Durango, Guanajuato, Michoacán, Morelos, Puebla, Querétaro, San Luis Potosí, Sonora, Tabasco, Tlaxcala, Yucatán and Zacatecas.

The states that turn orange are Baja California Sur, Mexico City, Colima, State of Mexico, Guerrero, Hidalgo, Jalisco, Nayarit, Nuevo León, Oaxaca, Quintana Roo, Tamaulipas and Veracruz.

In green, Aguascalientes, Chiapas and Coahuila. 

Meanwhile, still in red will be Sinaloa.

Until this Friday, Mexico accumulates a total of 2 million 726,160 infections and 237,954 deaths from the new virus, 328 that were confirmed in the last 24 hours.
