Tenth edition of the World Naked Bike Ride took place in Guadalajara

Around one thousand naked people traveled 20 km in the capital of Jalisco to raise awareness of the use of bicycles and respect for the cyclist.

The World Naked Bike Ride Guadalajara celebrated 10 years of riding in the nude, and that is how hundreds of cyclists took part in the capital city of Jalisco, an initiative celebrated by many.

Although the motto is “naked in front of traffic” on this occasion and due to the Covid-19 pandemic, all participants were required to wear face masks, in addition to maintaining a healthy distance.

The tour was carried out through the streets of López Mateos, Guadalupe, De las Rosas, Mariano Otero, Chapultepec, Hidalgo, República, Irineo Paz, Olímpica, García Barragán, Constancia, Revolución, Corona, Juárez and Alcalde (where a rest), and continued to close for Vallarta.

According to the organization, the social demonstration has the purpose of protesting and raising awareness of the over-dependence on hydrocarbons, the indiscriminate use of the car that is a producer of pollution, traffic congestion, and serious ecological damage.

“We want to promote the use of alternative means of transport, as well as to demand a greater culture of coexistence towards cyclists and pedestrians because that is how we feel: Naked in front of the traffic!”
