Mexican Navy incinerates half a ton of cocaine in Michoacan


The Navy Secretariat in conjunction with the Attorney General’s Office incinerated 545.97 kilos of cocaine hydrochloride.

The drug was part of the seizure of 481 brick-shaped packages, during one year in the port of Lázaro Cárdenas, Michoacán.

The actions are the result of the coordinated work of the close collaboration between this institution and the aforementioned agency.

These operations are carried out by naval personnel in accordance with the procedures established in the Manual for the Use of the Force for Common Application to the Three Armed Forces and in strict respect of Human Rights, the agency clarified.

The operation takes place within the framework of the National Peace and Security Plan carried out by various agencies.
