Colima-Manzanillo highway closed due to tragic collision and fire

On Wednesday, May 5th, a vehicular accident caused the total closure of traffic on the Colima – Manzanillo highway and once again a trucker was involved, after local media reported the latent risks of Manzanillo’s port activity on state highways just a ves days ago.

And now, a terrible accident takes place on this highway leaving destruction and tragedy for the people of Colima.

The accident occurred near the Turla crossing, in the direction from Manzanillo to Colima, when an eighteen-wheeler truck hit the retaining wall of this road, which started a fire.

The fire quickly began to consume the cargo truck, in addition to hitting a pick-up truck that was passing by at that moment.

After the terrible crash, the fire caused the total closure of the highway in both directions, while authorities were carrying out maneuvers to quell the fire and avoid greater risks.

So far there are no official figures of the number of people killed, but all the passengers in both units lost their lives.
