Mazatlan’s Artisan and Gastronomic Market: a place full of smells, flavors, and colors

Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- The Artisan and Gastronomic Market is a project that arose as a result of the pandemic with the purpose of supporting all those merchants and artisans who were affected by the health crisis and for those who undertook in the midst of it.

It is a place full of very Mexican smells, flavors, and colors, installed in the Las 7 Maravillas hotel, a place with a very original concept of bed and breakfast in the port.

Tatiana Genoud, director and owner, says that due to the economic crisis caused by the coronavirus since the tourist activity was reactivated it has been very difficult to win accommodation since the concept of your stay is very different from that offered by a conventional hotel in Mazatlán.

“Since the pandemic, it has been super difficult to win accommodation, six months closed, at the end of the year I began to think what I could do to make a move,” she said.

At the end of 2020, she thought of an initiative that could bring the place back to life, that is how the idea of ​​the artisan market was born.

“We are all in crisis, reactivated little by little. Many lost their premises where they were located, others were born in the pandemic, ” he added.

The also member of the Association of Women Heads of Companies offered a space for all those artisans who, due to the pandemic, lost their workplace or started a new job to pay for expenses.

The first installation was carried out during the Christmas holidays and to date it is still in force, being placed every 15 days, every Saturday from 10:00 in the morning to 5:00 in the afternoon.

PRODUCTS

The market has around 30 exhibitors, although the number varies every fortnight.

Everything is 100 percent handmade and Mexican; You can find everything from bazaars of clothing, accessories, jewelry, footwear, soaps, chocolates, spirits, organic foods, fit snacks, snacks and a variety of Mexican food to relaxation massages and the best thing is that they are at affordable prices.
