Because they are species of hot and humid climates, species of arachnid arthropods such as scorpions and snakes such as boas and false corals appear in the interior of the urban area of ​​Mazatlán more frequently than in the rest of the year. so it will be important to keep an eye on the inside of the shoes or shake the clothes before wearing them.

“With the warming of the environment, they are already beginning to come out, to have more activity and since the breeding season of them is also coming naturally, they are already beginning to see these species of animals (…) What is more common are snakes like the boas and the false coral reef, also the rattlesnake, are species that can be found near here in Mazatlán or within the city center ”, said the head of the Aquarium.

Rojas Zepeda mentioned that at this time they usually receive calls from citizens in order to attend to sightings of snakes, in the case of being poisonous they will be released in areas indicated by Profepa, while if they are harmless, they could stay in the Aquarium of Mazatlan.

“What if they bring us sometimes is the number of snakes, we always try to notify people that they are not poisonous, because we do not have qualified personnel to deal with poisonous species, boas, and other non-poisonous snake species if we can attend ”, He explained.

“Normally all are released in the area that Profepa has already designated for this type of species, which is around here in Mazatlán, depending on the species is the habitat to which it is sent,” he concluded.
