On Good Friday there were over 25 thousand passers-by and a hotel occupancy of 70 percent, with minor incidents; four people rescued from the sea and without deaths in the waters of the Bay of Mazatlán; 601 tons of garbage were lifted, 63 tons corresponding to the tourist strip, said in a press conference on behalf of municipal officials, Eloy Ruiz Gastélum, coordinator of Civil Protection, when reporting on the security and sanitary operations this Easter.
From the auditorium of the Mazatlán Aquarium, Ruiz Gastélum himself had words of appreciation for the team of officials who have made it possible for the holy days to be carried with practically white balance so far.
Among those present were the Secretary of Public Security, Juan Ramón Alfaro Gaxiola; Astrid Macías, director of CAPTA; Jorge Contreras, from Operadora de Playas; Luis Ernesto González Olague, director of Municipal Public Services; the commander of Transit, Jesús Estrada, among others.
A total of 124 motor units were infringed for being in prohibited places and 16 vehicles were sent to the corralón, located these days in the parking lot of the Sports Institute; 16 missing children were handed over to their parents; 13 street vendors were removed for not having permits; seven businesses were sanctioned, and Operadora de Playas reported more than 800 kilos of solid waste collected on the sand from the beaches.
The Secretary of Public Security, Alfaro Gaxiola, answered some questions about security and an operation on Avenida la Bahía and groups of drinkers, as well as an attempted lawsuit and a woman who was arrested for being drugged and naked on the Malecón.
