Foreign investment and support for local businesses generate more jobs

Durango.- With 24 projects to start and more than 2,200 million dollars of investment, in Durango the generation of direct jobs is on the rise, as stated by Governor José Rosas Aispuro Torres, noting that together with the promotion in the abroad, the state government has given life to local companies through different strategies to reactivate their businesses and position their brands.

According to data reported by the Ministry of Economic Development (SEDECO), the foreign investment that in 2020 positioned this entity as one of the 10 best and the third in the north of the country in attracting, in addition to the synergy with the federal government and other states to specify promotion platforms abroad, such as Invest México and the authorized windows for the delivery of export certificates of origin in Durango and La Laguna, explained the Chief of the State Executive.

These actions, Aispuro Torres pointed out, have allowed us to have more work spaces through the arrival of new companies; “However, it has also been a task of this Government to support our local entrepreneurs, with programs that stimulate and strengthen their economy and translate into a spill over to other sectors,” he said.

In this regard, he referred to the Exporta Durango program, which has the objective of certifying all IMMEX Manufacturing Industry, Maquiladora and Export Service companies, for the proper management of the program, the procedures and records that they must have, as well as the training for SMEs to develop their export business plan.

The support provided to small and medium-sized enterprises –PYMES- in innovation, with training in the use of technological tools to insert businesses in electronic commerce, access to card payments. This program also provides additional stimulation in equipment.

For women heads of families, there is the ‘Strengthening Women’ program, where training is given to women who are responsible for bringing food to the home and who are unemployed to start their own business, Aispuro Torres pointed out.

Similarly, a program called ‘Entrepreneurship in the Family’ was opened to support affected families with their source of income, promoting the creation of small family collaboration businesses and food sales.

‘Consume Durango’, for its part, is established as a program to promote the strengthening of local consumption, as well as merchandise produced in the state, through their promotion, management and designation of physical spaces as shelves, headboards, islands and showcases in convenience store chains and supermarkets. Integrating to this a web portal, digital showcase and electronic commerce (e-commerce).

Finally, he said that the ‘Impulso’ program that seeks to strengthen SMEs, through a collaboration agreement with Nacional Financiera, which to date is in force with loans for formal companies from 100,000 to 5 million pesos, with a preferential rate of 13 percent per annum, thus far supporting 200 beneficiaries with more than 430 million pesos.
