This was announced by the director of the IZC, Alfonso Vázquez Sosa, detailing that when Zacatecas migrated to a moderate risk traffic light – yellow color – he instructed the managers of these cultural centers to resume activities while continuing to reinforce prevention measures announced by health authorities.
The spaces that will be open to the public, at the indicated times, are the Manuel Felguérez, Zacatecano, Pedro Coronel, Rafael Coronel, Francisco Goitia, Manuel M. Ponce and Toma de Zacatecas museums.
The spaces will be working with 70 percent of its staff and all with the health measures that the health authorities have dictated, based on the established protocols, since the first reopening began on October 9, 2020.
The Pedro Coronel, Manuel M. Ponce and Francisco Goitia museums will open every day except Monday; the Zacatecano and Manuel Felguérez museums will be closed on Tuesdays; the Rafael Coronel museum will close on Wednesdays; while the Toma de Zacatecas museum will open every day.
Zacatecas museums closed their doors to the public in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic; the gradual reopening of these spaces and some of their exhibition rooms took place on October 9 of the same year, with restrictions; today they resume their activities with extension of days and hours.
However, the security measures will continue to be the same from the first reopening: people under 12 and over 60 may not enter; they do not allow group visits; the capacity of visitors, in each enclosure, will go from 30 to 50 percent of its capacity.
