Rubén Rocha, born June 15, 1949 in Sinaloa, is an academic, writer, and politician. As senator for Morena of the LXIV Legislature, he chairs the Education Commission.
His academic life indicates a Doctorate in Social Sciences at the Autonomous University of Sinaloa, and in 2020, he graduated as a Law Degree from UNAM, his second professional career.
As an official, from 1989 to 1992 he was Secretary General of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa, and later, he was elected Titular Rector at the same institution of higher education for the period 1993-1997.
His positions in the public administration include having been Coordinator of Advisors to the Governor of Sinaloa Jesús Aguilar Padilla, in the period 2005-2010, a position that he repeated in 2017 in the administration of Quirino Ordaz Coppel.
At the federal level, he was Deputy Director of Training and Educational Services at ISSSTE, in 2013-2017.
This would be the third time that Rocha Moya is running for governor of her home state.
The first of these was in 1986 by the left-wing alliance Movimiento Popular Sinaloense (MPS).
On the second occasion, in 1998, with Andrés Manuel López Obrador as national leader of the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD), he was nominated to run under the common candidacy of the PRD, PVEM and PT.
On this occasion, Senator Rocha left his colleague in the upper house, Imelda Castro, along the way, among other candidates.
