The reactivation of connectivity to Los Cabos resulted in a 70 percent recovery of the air market compared to the same month of 2019, with national air flow being the one that increased the most with 80 percent, against the international one that was 60 percent .
In addition to the restart of flights to Los Cabos, in recent months new routes to this Mexican destination have been announced, from airlines such as American Airlines, Delta, United and Eastern Airlines, which will connect with New York, Austin and Sacramento; as well as the new Aeroméxico route from Guadalajara with five weekly flights.
This situation has benefited the gradual recovery of the tourism sector, bringing travelers from both national and international primary markets, said Rodrigo Esponda Cascajares, general director of the Los Cabos Tourism Trust.
“Only the opening of new routes from New York will mean an increase of 4,500 seats available for travelers to arrive directly from this primary market, which strengthens the air connectivity of Los Cabos in an area with a high travel index abroad and an average spending higher than the rest of the United States, something fundamental for the reactivation of tourism between now and the end of 2020 ”.
Esponda assured “we will continue working to strengthen the trust our visitors have in us through the Los Cabos Te Cuida protocol system, in alliance with Intertek Cristal.”
In terms of hotel occupancy, Los Cabos reports a preliminary closing for September of 27 percent, only three points below the allowed limit, which indicates that there is interest from travelers to return to the destination, highlighted Mauricio Salicrup, Chairman of the Board of Directors from the Los Cabos Hotel Association.
Since October 6, Los Cabos has been in level three of the state Health Alert System, which represents an improvement in health control in the entity and the possibility of registering a greater number of travelers.
The international tourists who are visiting the destination correspond to the high-end, who travel primarily in private aviation. His level of spending and income also mean an economic benefit for Los Cabos.
