The best option to contain the contagions of Covid-19 in Mazatlán is that the authority makes people use the mask and crowds are avoided

Mazatlan, Sinaloa- Closing the activities is not an option to contain the cases of coronavirus in Mazatlán, since if the curtains of the businesses are lowered again it would be a catastrophic error, they considered presidents of business chambers.

This after Mayor Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres warned that if Covid-19 cases are not reduced in the port, a total quarantine will be re-entered for three months.

The president of the Employers’ Confederation of the Mexican Republic in Mazatlán, Jorge García Félix, said that the best option to contain contagions is for the authority to make people use the mask and also avoid crowds.

“More than closing, what has to be increased are the protection measures, we already saw what happened when it closed. To close again would be catastrophic, what we do ask is that the use of face masks be observed as something mandatory, it is not necessary to close businesses, it is necessary to put on the face masks all, “he said.

For his part, the president of the Tres Islas Hotels Association, José Ramón Manguart Sánchez, assured that a second closure of the companies in Mazatlán would bring with it a greater loss of jobs, which would be terrible.

“It is time to redouble our efforts to support the authorities that have externalized prevention measures, unfortunately there are people who still do not believe in the virus and this puts themselves, their family and the community in general at risk. It is not a matter of government, but of everyone’s responsibility, to flatten the curve, “he said.

Meanwhile, the vice president of Tourism in the National Chamber of Commerce of Mazatlán, Óscar Tirado Bernal, urged establishments not to lower their guard, but that the authority also does not neglect when there are specific areas of the city where crowds of people form .

He pointed out that the issue of spread of infections is attributed a lot to the commercial sector, however, he does not turn around to see that many citizens are those who do not take the necessary preventive measures when they go out to the streets.

“Yes there was a lot of concern about closing again, we had many question calls and we know that it is not something that could be ruled by the Mazatlán City Council, the previous time because it was the National Health Secretariat. What it does is that you have to be very aware that the guard of the reviews in the authority is not lowered, so that businesses and people continue to comply with all the protocols, “he said.

SLOWNESS

Entrepreneurs agreed by pointing out that the recovery of businesses has been very slow and that it has been very painful because some have had to close permanently, so they ask the mayor not to return to quarantine.
