DiDi Prevent has been active in China since January for the more than 31 million drivers in the country and is being implemented in all DiDi international markets.
“These industry-leading health protection measures will be introduced globally as quickly as possible to protect the people who keep our cities running in these difficult times,” said Juan Andrés Panamá, director of operations for DiDi Mexico.
The protocol to drivers will request to upload photographic evidence, which will be analyzed by DiDi systems to verify that the vehicles are properly disinfected, as well as offering an option so that drivers can voluntarily take their body temperature and record that it is in normal ranges.
Every day, before being able to connect and receive trips, drivers must comply with this health and safety process, where technology is used as a protection tool for the community.
“We support all drivers and delivery partners who remain on the streets with comprehensive measures and prevention materials such as face mask, gloves, plastic barriers, and disinfectant liquid,” explained the manager.
The process to encourage the use of preventive measures for drivers will work as follows:

After the tests are processed, the driver may take trips.
In case of not complying with the initiatives, different measures will be taken, including awareness-raising actions and the situation can be reported to DiDi Support to follow up with the users.
“The health check will help drivers detect possible symptoms of illness, in which case they will be able to assist their doctor for an evaluation. In the event that they are positive for coronaviruses, they may request support from the economic support fund so that they can take care of their health without affecting their income, ”concluded Juan Andrés Panamá.
Regarding the measures in the case of DiDi Food, at the end of their delivery, they may qualify the delivery partner and indicate if they do not wear face masks. Poor feedback from users for not using mouthguards may cause delivery partners to be unable to connect to the platform, according to regulatory frameworks issued in connection with the health emergency.
