Two young men reported missing in Manzanillo were found dead

Young men Diego Zúñiga and René Franco were found dead four days after being reported missing in Manzanillo, Colima.

The governor of Morena, @indira_vizcaino, has been heavily criticized for not issuing any statement on the matter.

The victims were 20 and 22 years old, according to their missing persons reports. A video in which their mothers plead for their safe return details that they were students and worked; they had no connection to organized crime groups, which makes their murders acts of terrorism.

René Franco and Diego Zúñiga, young men who disappeared on February 24 in Manzanillo, Colima, were found dead.

Their deaths were confirmed by the Madres Buscadoras de Jalisco collective, although they did not provide details about the discovery.

Sadly, the deaths of René Franco (22) and Diego Zúñiga (20) were confirmed on March 1, 2026, after they went missing in Manzanillo, Colima, on February 24. 

  • Search and Discovery: The young men were found dead following a four-day search. Their deaths were confirmed by the collective Madres Buscadoras de Jalisco, which issued a statement of solidarity with the families.
