Reynosa, Tamaulipas – Reynosa awoke this Sunday, February 22, to gunfire, chases, burning tires, vehicle theft, street blockades, and road closures.
The dangerous situation extends to various parts of the city, from the Ribereña highway to the exit to San Fernando, where criminals hijacked trucks to block the road and prevent authorities from passing.
On main thoroughfares, such as Hidalgo Boulevard, in addition to using vehicles to block traffic, tires were set ablaze, sending thick plumes of smoke billowing across the city.
Drivers reported tire spikes scattered along main roads, which criminals used to try to impede the advance of the National Guard in a day of violence that continued into the morning.
