The demonstrators denounced that the investigations have not shown significant progress
The Mexico-Toluca highway free, as well as the road to Toluca, at the height of the area known as “Las Alas”, in the municipality of Ocoyoacac, is blocked to demand justice for the femicide of Dafne Evelin. The protest of family and friends is taking place two months after the crime, without anyone being arrested so far in the case.
The demonstrators denounced that the investigations have not shown significant progress and accuse the authorities in charge of seeking justice of omissions.
Blockade affects traffic in the direction of Toluca
The blockade affects traffic in both sections in the direction of the city of Toluca; however, the dissidents keep one lane open to allow the intermittent passage of vehicles and avoid a total blockage.
With banners and slogans, relatives and companions demanded immediate measures to locate and arrest the person responsible, as well as guarantees that the case would not go unpunished. They indicated that they will continue with mobilizations until they obtain clear answers.
The protest generated traffic congestion in the area, so traffic authorities implemented traffic cuts and recommended that motorists take alternate routes while the demonstration continues.
