Hotel occupancy is projected at 90 percent, according to industry representatives.
With two days to go before the start of the 2026 Mazatlán Carnival, ¡Arriba la Tambora!, no cancellations have been reported in Mazatlán hotel reservations.
Despite the identification of five miners found in the El Verde pit in Concordia, and the disappearance of four tourists from the State of Mexico, tourism sector leaders assured that there have been no cancellations in hotel reservations.
The president of the Tres Islas Hotel Association, José Ramón Manguart Sánchez, stated that the port is experiencing a strong trend in reservations, solidifying the Mazatlán Carnival as the main driver of the current tourism economy.
Manguart Sánchez emphasized that, despite recent security challenges in the southern part of the state, no cancellations have been reported at accommodations. On the contrary, she emphasized that the phones keep ringing, demonstrating the confidence of visitors.
For her part, the president of the Mazatlán Chamber of Commerce, Francis Cázarez Oliveros, said that demand for hotel rooms continues for the Carnival, which kicks off this Thursday, February 12th.
Finally, the sector maintains a constant promotional effort to protect Mazatlán’s tourist attractions.
