In 2026, a new 10-peso Mexican coin will circulate in our country, which will have a different alloy and incorporate more complex technological elements.

Here at N+, we tell you what the new currency will be like, which will continue to reflect the history of deep Mexico through the metal, but with a necessary evolution, according to the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP).

On its social networks, the agency explained that this evolution implies: “optimizing its manufacture, reinforcing anti-counterfeiting security and incorporating more complex technological elements.”

The SHCP recalled that the central part of the coin may be made with different alloys (sterling silver, silver nickel silver, or nickel-coated steel), while the peripheral ring will be made of bronze-aluminum or bronze-coated steel.

Keep one of the current ones as a souvenir!” added the authority in his message in X.
