According to the Los Angeles Times, federal officials plan to seal off the border in a remote stretch of desert where endangered bighorn sheep have long crossed between Mexico and California.
Recently, they installed a new barrier that scientists say could be deadly.
Wildlife advocates want border officials to lessen the harm by installing wildlife passages in the wall, among other actions.
Border Patrol’s Greg Bovino has advocated for measures to help the sheep in the past.
