The projected investment for this year is 389.7 million pesos.
In its 28th extraordinary session, the Mazatlán City Council approved the Annual Public Works Plan, which includes the execution of 167 projects with a total investment of 389,711,015 pesos.
The plan was presented by the Urban Planning, Ecology, and Public Works Committee and unanimously approved by the council members present. Councilwoman Mylai Quintero Beltrán of the Citizens’ Movement party was absent from the session.
This is How the Funds Will Be Distributed
According to the information presented, the largest percentage of resources will be allocated to social paving projects, which include the replacement of water and sanitation infrastructure. This category includes 71 projects, with an investment of 199,872,569.15 pesos, representing 51 percent of the total approved budget.
The plan also includes four projects in rural areas, with an allocation of 11,114,847.15 pesos, as well as 15 educational infrastructure projects, totaling 22,807,265.18 pesos.
In the water and sanitation infrastructure section, 28 repair projects were approved, with an investment of 25,348,446.25 pesos. In addition, the plan includes a follow-up project for 9,239,253.18 pesos and three wastewater pumping station projects, with a budget of 15,188,452.87 pesos.
The Annual Public Works Plan also includes a traffic mobility and efficiency project, with an investment of 12 million pesos; 16 public space rehabilitation and beautification projects for 20,410,082.30 pesos; and 21 canal and municipal infrastructure maintenance projects, which together represent 52,726,994.04 pesos.
Furthermore, four sports infrastructure projects were approved for 13,064,157.61 pesos; two public works-related services for 2,938,947.28 pesos; and one emergency project with an allocation of 5 million pesos.
After the session, reporters asked the council members for a copy of the detailed breakdown of the works included in the plan, but the council members indicated that they did not have that information at that time.
