Mexican influencer Dulce Enríquez dies following an accident in which she was traveling with the mayor of Huatulco, Oaxaca.
The influencer died after suffering a traumatic brain injury and multiple other injuries in a car accident on January 9.
Influencer and makeup artist Dulce Enríquez passed away on the afternoon of Monday, January 19, after spending 10 days hospitalized due to the serious injuries she sustained in a car accident on January 9 in the Central Valleys of Oaxaca.
The Oaxaca State Attorney General’s Office confirmed her death on Monday afternoon at a private hospital located in the Reforma neighborhood, north of the state capital, where she was receiving specialized medical care.
Dulce Enríquez, 23, was traveling in a pickup truck with the mayor of Santa María Huatulco, Julio César Cárdenas Ortega, and a man acting as her bodyguard, when the vehicle ran off the road and overturned on the Ocotlán de Morelos bypass, near the municipality of Santo Tomás Jalieza, in the Central Valleys region of the state.
The accident occurred around 8:00 a.m. at kilometer 5.9 of the Barranca Larga–Ventanilla highway, which connects the Central Valleys with the coastal region. The vehicle, a beige Toyota pickup truck with Morelos license plates, fell into a ravine approximately 50 meters deep.
Following the accident, emergency services transported the injured to hospitals in the city of Oaxaca. The influencer suffered a traumatic brain injury and multiple other injuries, and remained in serious condition under intensive care. However, his condition did not improve.
After his death was confirmed, agents from the State Investigation Agency went to the hospital to carry out the corresponding procedures.
The State Prosecutor’s Office reported that it has an open investigation to clarify the circumstances of the accident and determine who was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash.
