Nurse José Alberto G. U. lost his life when his pickup truck overturned; he dozed off and ran off the road in Candelaria.
The community of Candelaria is in mourning after the death of José Alberto G. U., a young nurse who died early Sunday morning in a serious road accident while returning to Candelaria.
José Alberto, originally from the ejido Adolfo López Mateos, was returning home after a long day of work at the Candelaria hospital when the accident occurred on the stretch of road connecting the town of Naranjito with Villa Quetzalcóatl. Initial investigations indicate that fatigue may have overcome the professional, causing him to fall asleep at the wheel of his white Toyota Hilux pickup truck.
The vehicle left the road at high speed, crashed through a wire fence, and came to a violent end in a wooded area.
The impact was devastating; José Alberto died instantly, trapped in the twisted wreckage of the vehicle. David “N,” who was traveling with him, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a hospital, where his condition is reported as critical.
Officers from the Preventive Police and forensic experts from the Prosecutor’s Office based in Villa El Triunfo arrived at the scene to cordon off the area and for the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) to remove the body.
