The SLP Convention Center hosted curious onlookers, fans, followers, and anime impersonators.
Colorful, varied, multi-symbolic, and multifunctional, Sunday unfolded at Ecom Expocomic 2025, a gigantic gathering of cosplayers, anime and cartoon characters, vendors specializing in these themes, and voice actors, all converging at the San Luis Potosí Convention Center.
This massive event brought together cosplayers from all over San Luis Potosí, participants in K-pop competitions, voice actors from the most famous cartoons (The Simpsons, for example), and visitors and fans who, whether participating in a competition or not, dressed up to create a vibrant atmosphere for an event that primarily attracted young people and children accompanied by their parents.
There were men dressed as jagged creatures, women in short skirts reminiscent of Japanese anime, cartoon and movie characters, and everything else they’d learned on streaming platforms.
Sculptors, illustrators, 3D printers, and vendors of all kinds of snack foods, traditional prepared foods, and Japanese dishes were also present.
The young people participated in conferences where voice actors and producers presented their work and shared their experiences in producing and translating foreign languages into Spanish, primarily for cartoons of Japanese, British, and American origin. Generally, the cartoons were of Asian and American origin.
“Daymich Cosplay” says that cosplay helps him unleash his creativity, keeps him away from trouble, helps him connect with others, and allows young people to value themselves for their hobbies. He says he tries to make friends everywhere because they at least share the passion for dressing up and paying homage to their favorite characters.
