The man had a head injury, possibly from a firearm, and stab wounds.

The director of the municipal DIF, Enrique Estrada Jiménez, was found dead in his home, and the Regional Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation to clarify the circumstances.

The body of the 27-year-old official was found in his home on Friday, December 12th, as confirmed by the El Salto government.

In a statement, the municipal government reported that “at this time, further details about how the events occurred are unknown. Evidence found at the scene is being investigated to determine what happened.”

The statement specified that local and state authorities have begun their investigations into the incident, but indicated that Enrique was at home with one or more other people when he died.

The government also expressed its condolences for the death of the director, who had recently joined the DIF.

“The government condemns and deeply regrets the events that occurred, and expresses its full solidarity with the family of the deceased.”

Sources from the Prosecutor’s Office indicated that he had a head injury that could be from a firearm and stab wounds to his wrists, so the investigation will continue.

Witnesses also told the Prosecutor’s Office that he arrived home at night after hearing noises and seeing the gate to the property open.

During the previous administration, he pretended to be the private secretary of Mayor Ricardo Santillán. He was also well-liked by the residents of that metropolitan municipality.
