On December 5, 2025, Aguascalientes became the epicenter of global dialogue on security and justice as leaders from more than 20 countries gathered for the Third International Security and Justice Forum. The event, hosted at the Aguascalientes Convention Center, brought together ministers, police chiefs, judicial authorities, and international experts to discuss strategies for combating organized crime, cyber threats, and transnational violence.

The forum was inaugurated by Governor María Teresa Jiménez, who emphasized Aguascalientes’ role as a safe and neutral ground for international cooperation. “Security is not only a local challenge but a global responsibility,” she said, highlighting the importance of collaboration between governments and civil society.

Key sessions focused on cybersecurity, judicial reform, and regional cooperation against drug trafficking. Delegates from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the Organization of American States (OAS) presented reports on the rising influence of digital crime networks and the need for stronger cross-border intelligence sharing.

Mexico’s federal representatives underscored the country’s commitment to strengthening judicial institutions and expanding training programs for law enforcement. Meanwhile, European and Latin American officials exchanged experiences on community policing and restorative justice models.

The forum also included workshops for young professionals and students, aiming to foster a new generation of security and justice leaders. Organizers stressed that the event was not only about policy but also about building trust among nations facing common threats.

As the forum concluded, participants agreed to draft a joint declaration outlining commitments to enhance cooperation, share best practices, and promote innovation in justice systems. Analysts noted that the gathering reinforced Aguascalientes’ growing reputation as a hub for international dialogue on peace and security.
