Two agents from the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) were kidnapped in the Paseo de los Virreyes area of Zapopan, Jalisco.
The kidnapping reportedly occurred on the night of Wednesday, November 26th, or the early morning hours of Thursday, November 27th, according to initial official reports.
The official vehicle, bearing federal license plates, was found at the scene.
The vehicle showed signs of gunfire and bloodstains, confirming that the agents had been attacked before their disappearance.
The Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation to clarify what happened. As part of the initial actions, forensic experts and ministerial police are conducting ballistic and crime scene analyses to reconstruct the dynamics of the attack.
Authorities from all three levels of government are maintaining a joint operation in Zapopan and the surrounding areas to locate the agents and apprehend those responsible. So far, no arrests have been reported.
