The State Investigation Agency and Civil Protection personnel, along with canine units, searched for human remains among the rubble of the explosion.

Civil Protection of Nuevo León reports that following the fireworks explosion at a home in the municipality of Pesquería, three people are dead, approximately 20 are injured, and at least 44 homes sustained damage.

Local police identified 75-year-old Anastacia Rodríguez de León as the first reported victim after the incident Friday night in the Los Olmos neighborhood.

Her body was found under the rubble of a wall that collapsed at number 538 Olmo Siberiano Street while she was visiting her daughter and grandchildren. The explosion occurred at number 534, and neighbors say that a man known as Oziel lives there. He worked nights at a company and sold fireworks.

A body remained at the scene, but it will be determined through forensic testing if it is Oziel.

Ingrid Daina Macías Ruiz, 15, Oziel’s daughter, was also injured but later died in a hospital.

According to the updated report from the Attorney General’s Office, ten people were injured in the explosion, some with burns and others with trauma.

Municipal personnel removed the debris from two houses that collapsed completely and two others that partially collapsed.

Agents from the State Investigation Agency and Civil Protection personnel, with canine units, searched the explosion site on Saturday for human remains, but ruled out the presence of any other people.

State authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the explosion.
