Porter Airlines marked a major milestone on November 5, 2025, with the launch of its inaugural flight from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) to Cancún, Mexico (CUN). This new route represents Porter’s first venture beyond Canada and the United States, signaling a bold expansion into southern vacation destinations, including the Caribbean and Central America.

The Toronto-Cancún service begins with four weekly flights, increasing to daily service in December, and twice-daily flights by January. Porter also plans to introduce direct flights to Cancún from Hamilton and Ottawa starting December 17, broadening access for Canadian travelers.

Passengers aboard the new route will enjoy Porter’s signature elevated economy experience, featuring complimentary beer and wine served in glassware and premium Canadian snacks. Flights are operated using the 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, offering a comfortable two-by-two seating configuration with no middle seats.

This strategic move positions Porter Airlines as a competitive player in the leisure travel market, catering to Canadians seeking sun-soaked escapes. With its distinctive onboard service and growing network, Porter is poised to redefine travel to southern destinations.
