Michoacán can be reached without problems via the free highway, avoiding the blockades, as assured by the Federal Secretary of Tourism, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, speaking from Morelia.
In this regard, she urged tourists not to be alarmed by the news circulating about blockades by farmers.
“Michoacán is waiting for you with open arms, and it’s very easy to get there. Don’t be scared by what the media is saying. The blockades are on a section of the highway, but the alternative routes have the infrastructure to allow you to arrive comfortably and safely,” she stated at a press conference for local media in Morelia.
She also shared that she took this route to reach the Michoacán capital and was able to do so without any problems.
“It took me four hours. I left at 9:00 a.m. and arrived at the hotel around 1:00 p.m.” “I took an alternate route (…) the car never stopped, it was safe, and I was completely comfortable,” she emphasized.
