CUERNAVACA, MORELOS (October 30, 2025).- The Miquixtli Festival 2025 has officially begun, bringing a vibrant celebration of music, art, and tradition to the state of Morelos. Running from October 30 to November 2, the festival kicked off with a spectacular parade through Cuernavaca, culminating in a powerful opening concert by renowned Mexican singer Lila Downs, whose music honors indigenous roots and Mexican folklore.
This year’s edition features a rich program dedicated to the Día de Muertos, with events held across Cuernavaca, Axochiapan, Coatetelco, and Tlaltizapán. Attendees can enjoy traditional ofrendas, cultural exhibitions, live performances, and interactive workshops that pay homage to ancestral customs and the spiritual significance of the holiday.
The festival also highlights Tlaxcala as the guest state, showcasing its unique traditions and artistic contributions. More than 1,500 participants, including artists, schools, and community groups, are involved in the festivities, making it one of the most inclusive and colorful cultural events in the region.
With its blend of solemn remembrance and joyful expression, Miquixtli 2025 continues to be a cornerstone of Morelos’ cultural identity and a must-see experience for locals and visitors alike.
