An awkward scene that unfolded in the Chamber of Deputies has captured everyone’s attention and caused a stir on social media.
After his appearance before the Political Coordination Board (Jucopo) of San Lázaro, Security Secretary Omar García Harfuch held a press conference.
There, Morena party deputies Gabriela Jiménez and Jessica Saiden (from Yucatan) engaged in a scuffle to appear next to the official during the press conference.
The incident occurred after the Morena caucus coordinator, Ricardo Monreal, apparently asked Jiménez—who serves as deputy coordinator—to stand to Harfuch’s left.
However, Saiden, who was on that side, refused to give up her place.

La vicecoordinadora de los diputados de Morena, Gabriela Jiménez no pudo colocarse al lado izquierdo de Harfuch, como le pidió el coordinador @RicardoMonrealA , porque Jessica Saiden no quiso quitarse.

As a reaction, Jiménez can be seen exchanging words with Saiden, who remained in the same position. This situation prompted the deputy coordinator to return to Monreal.
The gesture highlights the tensions within the Morena parliamentary group and the differences among the congresswomen as they vie to appear close to the Secretary of Security.
Morena members’ disagreements with Gabriela Jiménez
Gabriela Jiménez is no stranger to internal controversies.
Sources from Político MX indicated that last September, some Morena legislators pushed for her replacement as deputy coordinator due to her influence in the formation of a new political party called “Que Siga la Democracia” (Let Democracy Continue).
The Morena member was also criticized for allegedly negotiating with the PAN and PRI caucuses to modify the anti-nepotism law approved by the Senate to extend its application until 2030, instead of for the 2027 elections, as originally intended.
